Break the refrigerator. Spend a lot of time emptying shelves, dumping food, grumbling about dumping food, cooking up what can be salvaged, jamming anything salvageable into freezer, grumbling some more. Cleaning up after cooking marathon.
Strip bedding, curtains and anything else launderable from bedroom. Vacuum carpet, scrub walls and windows, ceiling of bedroom. Spend all evening and night laundering. Because DH decided that would stop his Spring/Summer allergies. Don't bother wasting time arguing that you cannot make outdoor molds and allergens disappear. BTW, pillows take a long time to dry.
Break vacuum. Add some various swear words to the grumbling.
Cook dinner, eat dinner, clean up after dinner. Grumble about cooking and cleaning up after dinner. Should have used paper plates. The heck with saving trees.
Crawl into spare bed in sewing room after 7am for desperately needed sleep. Awaken at 10:30 to phone call from Stupid Insurance Salesperson who should know that I am on the DO NOT CALL ME EVER! list. Do not swear at salesperson (miracles do happen). Stagger back to spare bed only to discover 'awake' has occurred. Grumble and swear. Good thing no one is around to hear.
Give up on sleep. Get up. Stagger around trying to remember where the coffee is. Discover that Kitchen is disarrayed from marathon cooking / cleaning out refrigerator and the coffee pot is buried. Yup, more grumbling and swearing. Stagger around looking for something to do that does not require focused vision. Dress and leave house for hair appointment. Sun is shining. This is not good. Arrive early, discover no one ahead of me. Get hair cut while laughing at Stylist's stories. Look better, feel better. Buy coffee for drive home.
Today is looking up.

Lastly, for today. I have a project in the works. Well, I am working on working on the project. Here is a hint:
I lost the URL of the blogger who took this photo. If it is yours, please let me know so I may request with great politeness and much begging to use your work.Darn, this is too pretty to be a bug. Notice I did not use the M word. Knitters have problems using the M word. Now the S word I can say in several languages.
Pick one.

Pickathon 2006 - Wailin' Jennys - Long Time Traveller
The Cuz introduced me to this group. Now it is my turn to rave. Go to You Tube and watch each of their videos. Yes, that was an order!

I picked over my patterns and chose 8. And then went through my books and chose another four. Finally I decided on Denmark from Knitting on the Road by Nancy Bush (page 31). I am using a Posh Cashmere yarn that I overdyed into a deep forest green. The rib pattern is simple and yet I had to restart it three times. Distraction. Not good for counting stitches. And of course I started another face cloth. And a scarf. And the Lozenge sock from Knitting Vintage Socks by (wait for it) Nancy Bush. I am predictable..........which makes me uncomfortable. So now I will have to do something unpredictable to make myself feel better.
The least likely thing I would ever do is cook.

Fiber Trends Bathing Beauties in Panda Cotton.
Since I sent a set to the Cuz in her birthday box, I could not blog about it. But these were fun. The cotton/bamboo is interesting. It has a tendency to unwind so a little extra twist was needed. But the result is soft and lovely. I could make more of these easily just for fun. The colors are yummy too. I purchased my stash from YarnMarket.com. They were delivered quickly and looked even more yummy in my hands. Just how many facecloths do I need? More.
Funny thing about them though. I knit many of them while listening to the audiobook Water for Elephants. Now as I look at them, I see a circus.Plus there has been more mitten knitting for Sheep Shots Mittnz Blitz. Although knitting mittens is getting boring. Which made knitting facecloths that much more enjoyable.
Knitting is such a great obsession. It makes gifts, charity items, keeps the hands busy, stimulates creativity. And lets me listen to audiobooks without feeling guilty. And it is a comfort during the long sleepless nights. It is quiet, portable, and sensual.
But it still tastes bad.

Apparently I can knit. Or I can blog. But since this is supposedly a blog about knitting...
On the left a sweet fuzzy light-weight bit of garter and stockinette.
Below, a fun basketweave pattern. The sleeves need inset. A bit of ribbon around the neck.....
Third mitten set for Sheep Shots' challenge. I think I will switch to sideways mittens for the next three. Oh, and the circulars for the mitten is one set of Options and one Addi Bamboo. I love them both. The first two mittens were done with double points. But boredom is dangerous when handling pointy sticks.
Now, if only I can get rid of the headache caused by DH's plumbing experiment. I had forgotten how potent pvc glue can be. Thankfully he is smart enough to be elsewhere working on his radios. DS is also elsewhere, avoiding both the smell and the slightly crazed Mom.
Where did I put those options DPNs?
Ouch ! Oh......... there they are.

We decided we need to make our own. A movie-themed park. DS suggested Star Wars. Darth Vader hovering over a hole. When the ball goes in his light-saber lights and he says, Luke, I am your father! I suggested a barn with an upside-down bi-plane stuck in it. Can you guess the movie? DH suggested a skeleton with a sword and an eyeball with a fork stuck in it. Yes, Pirates of the Caribbean. I had another thought. A naked older woman posing for a calendar. I did not say it aloud.
Well? What are your ideas?

I am such a sucker for a pretty photo. Like this one
which I stole from Yarn Harlot (to save her bandwidth.....really !)
I must have this. I must make this. I crave this adorable sweater. Lettuce Knit, look out!
I have been busy though. I finished the first pair of mittens for Sheep Shots' challenge.

The second one of the second pair is nearly done.
And then there is the secret knitting.
Ha! And you thought I would actually show it?
