Choices

I need advice. Being without a stove creates interesting cooking problems. Can a person make quiche in a microwave? Is there a good recipe for chicken cooked in a slow cooker that Meat-And-Potato men would like? Should I purchase an electric skillet or a toaster oven?

I live on my slow cooker. I use it to make brisket, chicken, pulled pork, stew, etc. The great thing is that you can put a not so expensive cut of meat in with the appropriate seasonings/sauces and have it come out amazing. Try allrecipes.com for some slow cooker recipes. Taste of Home also puts out a great slow cooker issue every year (most of those recipes are on their site).

As far as electric skillet vs. toaster oven, I would say go with the toaster oven. You can use it to make (small) pizzas, mozzarella sticks, fish sticks, chicken nuggets, garlic bread, etc. If you have a Pampered Chef rep and you're careful when you buy, the small bar pan fits perfectly in the toaster oven (just make sure you get one with the right dimensions).
